Unbeaten filly Atlantic Jewel, regarded by punters as over the line in the Thousand Guineas, has been well supported in the Cox Plate despite not being nominated for the $3 million race.

The Mark Kavanagh-trained filly eased slightly overnight from $1.45 to $1.50 favouritism with TAB Sportsbet for Wednesday's 1600m Group One three-year-old fillies feature at Caulfield.

At that quote she is even shorter than dominant fillies of their years in Alinghi, who started at $1.70 when she won in 2004, and Miss Finland who was sent out at $1.90 when she was a narrow winner in 2006.

Atlantic Jewel has been very impressive in her three wins, in a maiden on the Geelong synthetic track over 1200m on debut in August and at Moonee Valley (1200m) and Caulfield (1400m) last month.

The daughter of Fastnet Rock and Zabeel mare Regard has gone through lower-tier fillies races and is yet to be tested in a black-type race or at 1600m.

However it hasn't deterred punters who have already stepped in and backed her in to third favourite for the Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley on October 22.

Atlantic Jewel, who races in Coolmore's navy blue colours, can be put into the Cox Plate by payment of a $130,000 late entry fee by noon next Monday.

Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said Atlantic Jewel was the all the rage for the Thousand Guineas and had also been the biggest shortener for the Cox Plate this week.

"Atlantic Jewel is $1.50 and looks near unbeatable in the Thousand Guineas and, if she won that, connections would have to be tempted to go on to the Cox Plate," Sullivan said.

"She has shortened from $11 to $8 for the Cox Plate in the last 24 hours and she is now on the third line of betting behind Helmet and Jimmy Choux.

"She will trim up even further if she bolts in in the Thousand Guineas like many are expecting."

Sullivan said the three-year-olds had been very popular in Cox Plate betting in the absence of a number of the genuine weight-for-age stars such as So You Think, Whobegotyou, More Joyous, Shoot Out and Zipping.

"Helmet is the $3.70 favourite following his enormous win in the Caulfield Guineas and Atlantic Jewel could well be second pick if she runs in the Cox Plate," he said.

Michael Rodd, who rides Atlantic Jewel on Wednesday, has been very keen on the filly for some time.

"She gives you every indication that she's going to make the top level," he said.

"She's got a massive stride, a very good attitude and you know she'll get the mile very strongly.

"She's in the right stable to be taken all the way."

The Robert Smerdon-trained Mosheen, who will attempt to become the 14th filly to complete the Edward Manifold-Thousand Guineas double, is regarded as the main danger at $5.50 with Flight Stakes runner-up Hallowell Belle next best at $13.

Golden Slipper runner-up Mosheen emerged as the main danger to Atlantic Jewel when she had the blinkers back on in the Group Two Edward Manifold (1600m) and romped in by 2-3/4 lengths, beating Guineas rivals Bliss Street, Celebrity Girl and Rahveel.
