Racing is all about dreams and for Toowoomba trainer Norm Hilton the game is no different.

Hilton is hoping for a slice of the Magic Millions action next year with his promising sprinter Bold Glance, an impressive all the way winner in the Nationwide Civil Handicap (1200m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

Hilton has big plans in store for Bold Glance if the son of Sequalo acquits himself well this campaign.

"He races best fresh and he's won at the Gold Coast so we're hoping to take him back there for the Magic Millions Cup in January," he said.

"I'll give him a let-up after that and if he keeps taking the next step there's a nice race over 1400 metres during the winter I'd like to aim for."

The race Hilton has in mind is the $1 million Group One Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm in June.

Bold Glance cost Hilton only $20,000 at the Magic Millions sales but has proven a great money spinner earning the former stud worker almost $170,000 in prizemoney.

The four-year-old has been only lightly raced and recorded his fourth win from 11 starts with Saturday's commanding victory for jockey Kristy Banks.

Hilton admits Bold Glance is lucky to still be in his stable after plans to sell him as a young horse went awry due to the 2007 equine influenza (EI) outbreak.

"We planned to sell him at the Gold Coast breeze-up sales as a two-year-old but EI struck so we decided to keep him," Hilton said.

"I've been patient with him and it's just starting to pay off.

Hilton is kept busy training 15 horses at Toowoomba but Bold Glance has given him his biggest win to date.

"We won a Listed race with him at Eagle Farm on Anzac Day and hopefully he can go on and win the Magic Millions Cup," he said.

Hilton first started training 20 years ago but not all his time has been devoted to training racehorses.

"I started training 20 years ago but I took six years off and worked on Oaklands Stud for Neville Stewart before I started training again two years ago," he said.
