Gai Waterhouse's chances of a fourth Golden Slipper received a boost when Shared Reflections put herself in the field with victory in the Sweet Embrace Stakes at Warwick Farm.

The winner of the Group Three 1200m race is automatically exempt from a ballot on the $3.5 million Slipper on April 2 but Waterhouse revealed she almost kept the filly home in her box on Saturday.

"I nearly didn't run her after her work on Tuesday when she speared off the track and nearly dumped Nash (Rawiller)," Waterhouse said.

"Then we decided to put a cheeker on her to keep her straight and after she worked in that I thought `I've got you'.

"The filly of Clarry Conners, Satin Shoes, and the Blue Diamond winner Sepoy are the standard we have to beat.

"But I think this filly is right up there and she showed that today."

Shaded for favouritism by Pane In The Glass ($3.80), Shared Reflections ($3.90) raced midfield with Al's Magic Miss ($41) setting the early pace.

Rawiller urged the filly forward from the top of the straight and she responded to get to the line a length in front of Streama ($21) who also came with a late run.

Pane In The Glass finished another 2-1/2 lengths away third.

Waterhouse said stable jockey Rawiller would be riding Shared Reflections in the Slipper but the heavyweight rider indicated it was open to more discussion.

"I'll talk to Gai about it but I'm worried about the weight," he said.

Fillies carry 54.5kg in the Slipper which is a little out of Rawiller's comfort zone.

The Guy Walter-trained Streama finished second on debut in a midweek Canterbury race and impressed her trainer and jockey Hugh Bowman with her performance in the higher grade.

"I don't know if she will be going to the Slipper, that's something we have to think about," Walter said.

"There are other options for her that might be easier but she is a good filly in the making."

Defiant Dame ($5), who missed racing last week due toan elevated temperature, finished sixth, six lengths from the winner, with vets checking her after the race.

Outsider Seven Fly Seven was eased down by Jim Cassidy and found to be shin-sore.

However, her trainer Clarry Conners had plenty to smile about with Slipper second favourite Satin Shoes putting in a pleasing gallop between races with stablemate Georgette Silk.

"The trainer's happy, the jockey's happy, everybody's happy," Conners said.

Satin Shoes will run in next Saturday's Reisling Stakes at Rosehill.
