A slight drop in distance for Dreamscape in the Group Three Missile Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday is the only concern Gai Waterhouse has with the exciting colt.

Apart from that, Sydney's leading trainer could not be happier with the rising four-year-old who is owned by Eduardo Cojuangco's Gooree Pastoral Syndicate.

TAB Sportsbet has installed Dreamscape as $2.60 favourite ahead of the Bart Cummings-trained Listed June Stakes (1100m) winner Kroner at $3.40.

Group One Manikato Stakes (1200m) winner Typhoon Zed from the Tim Martin yard is on the third line of betting at $6.

Dreamscape is racing second-up in Saturday's 1100-metre feature after leading all the way over 1200 metres at Randwick on July 11 at his first start after a 39-week spell.

"This is a tough race for him because he's coming back in distance, that's the only thing, but he is going to be hard to hold out," Waterhouse said.

"He's an exciting colt in the making and he really seems to have come of age this preparation.

"He was never quite there as a younger horse but he is getting there now."

From day one, Dreamscape looked set for a bright future as he won the Group Three Up And Coming Stakes (1200m) on debut in August last year.

He followed that with a third to Predatory Pricer in the Listed Ming Dynasty (1400m) before scoring comfortably in the Group Two Stan Fox Stakes (1400m).

Dreamscape finished his preparation with a seventh to Whobegotyou in the Group One Caulfield Guineas (1600m).

Hugh Bowman rode Dreamscape last time out with Waterhouse's stable rider Nash Rawiller sidelined through suspension and Blake Shinn overseas.

Rawiller was aboard for the Stan Fox triumph and rode the horse in both of his barrier trials leading up to his resumption and is back in the saddle for the Missile.

"He's definitely an improved horse now," Rawiller said.

"His work has been very good and he just keeps improving ahead of the race.

"He's the sort of horse who can quicken off a good tempo, even if he gets run off his legs early, and that will hold him in good stead for Saturday."

Dreamscape has drawn barrier four of 12.

The black and red colours of Gooree will also be carried by Swift Alliance in the Rosehill Gardens Event Centre Handicap (1200m).

"Dreamscape can be a bit lackadaisical but Swift Alliance is very workmanlike, he rolls up his sleeves and gets on with the job, he'll be terribly hard to beat," Waterhouse said.

Swift Alliance has three wins from four starts and resumed with a narrow victory over Cloudy Morning over Saturday's distance at Randwick on July 11.
