Forgotten black-type winner Danehill Smile is primed for her return in the Triscay Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday.

Patinack Farm trainer Jason Coyle believes he could not have the mare in better shape for the 1200-metre Listed race.

"She's done so well at home and we can't wait to get her back to the racetrack," Coyle said.

Danehill Smile was originally set to return in last Saturday's Breeders Classic at Randwick but the wild weather put an end to those plans.

"I didn't want her to go around on a track that was tipped to be downgraded throughout the day," Coyle said.

"At first I thought I'd made the wrong call with the track improving early but the showers came and I'm glad I didn't start her."

Sydney's wet weather has continued with Sydney Turf Club track manager Lindsay Murphy saying 120mm of rain has fallen at Rosehill in the last week.

But after some brief showers early Wednesday the rain eased and mostly fine conditions are predicted up to race day.

"There's a few showers forecast but they shouldn't last long and they're talking about it getting near 30 degrees by Friday so everything looks good for Saturday," Murphy said.

Coyle inherited Danehill Smile when he recently took over from Anthony Cummings as head trainer for Nathan Tinkler's massive thoroughbred operation.

Danehill Smile has been given two trials under Coyle's care with her last effort a third to Hot Danish over 800 metres at Randwick on January 30.

"She got beaten a fair margin but that run showed me she was ready," Coyle said.

The mare burst onto the scene in her two-year-old season with three outstanding victories including the Canonbury Stakes and a five-length romp in the Inglis Classic.

She was installed favourite for the Golden Slipper until she finished nearly 20 lengths last in a barrier trial at Randwick a few weeks out from the race.

A month later it was discovered she had a fractured vertebra.

Then she was hit by equine influenza before suffering a series of niggling muscle-related problems.

Tinkler bought her while she was recovering from a hock injury incurred in the spelling paddock and she made her debut for Patinack with a fifth to Captain Bax in the Group Three Missile Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill in August last year.

She was spelled again following her last to Kishkat in the Listed Toy Show Quality (1400m) at Warwick Farm later that month.
