A video review by stewards of Friday's Wyong Cup meeting has resulted in Sydney's leading rider Corey Brown being handed a second suspension for a breach of the whip rules, this time for his ride in the Mona Lisa Stakes.

Racing NSW stewards conducted an inquiry at Warwick Farm on Tuesday after a video review of the Mona Lisa Stakes where Brown rode runner-up Ivory Pegasus who was beaten a half length by Moti in the Listed race.

Brown received a two meeting ban for striking Ivory Pegasus on six consecutive occasions in the final 200 metres.

The ban will be added to the 13 meetings he copped for his ride in the Wyong Cup on runner-up Lodge The Deeds.

He was also fined his share of the prizemoney for both races as well as his riding fees.

The leading jockey pleaded guilty to both charges but had already lodged an appeal against the penalty for the Wyong Cup offence and was quick to lodge a second appeal.

Steward Marc Van Gestel, who chaired the latest inquiry, explained the video system which caught Brown out.

"The review was carried out yesterday (Monday).

The reviews are carried out the next working day after the race meeting and it was picked up that he breached the rules," Van Gestel said.

Brown has requested both matters be heard together.

On Thursday, Australian Jockeys Association representatives will make submissions to the Australian Racing Board to have the rule altered in regards to the last 100 metres of the race to allow jockeys on horses in contention to use their discretion with the whip.
