Corey Brown is determined to focus on Sydney racing in the coming months after regaining the outright lead in the jockeys' premiership with a treble at Rosehill.

Brown's three-timer on Saturday began with two-year-old debutant Foxwedge in the Always Recycling Handicap (1100m).

In the next race he steered the Peter Snowden-trained Scarf to a 2-1/4 length win and he found the winners' circle again with a breakthrough victory for trainer Paul Messara on speedy filly Pyrography in the Turner Freeman Handicap (1100m).

"It's great to get a treble, I had a wipeout here last Saturday and hadn't been having the best of runs at Rosehill," Brown said.

"And to get a treble for a mixed bag of trainers is also really good."

The 2009 Melbourne Cup-winning hoop has frequently been away from Sydney racing in 2010 with two trips to Dubai earlier in the year as well as heading to France to ride in a jockeys' invitational event in August.

On top of that he's ridden in Brisbane and at the Melbourne spring carnival and spent time out of the saddle through suspensions and a broken collarbone sustained in a fall at Warwick Farm in late March.

"I've spent a long time away from Sydney and it feels like I'm losing a few contacts, so for the next three to four months I'll be really concentrating on Sydney," he said.

Level-pegging in the premiership with Hugh Bowman on 25 wins heading into the Rosehill meeting, Brown's bag of winners edged him one clear of Bowman who claimed a double courtesy of wins to Title and Russian Jar.

Bowman was in good company as trainers Peter Snowden, John O'Shea and Joe Pride also went home with two winners for the day.

Brown was relieved to finally get a win on the board for Messara when Pyrography booked a Queensland trip for the Listed Mode Plate on December 4 with her all the way win.

"Although he (Messara) doesn't have a lot of runners, he's always ringing up and putting me on so it's good to actually get a point on the board for him," Brown said.

"I've had plenty of placings but that's the first winner I can remember having for him.

"And she's a smart filly too."
