Corey Brown has been offered the Stradbroke Handicap ride on Melito with trainer Gerald Ryan confirming the filly will press on to Saturday week's rich sprint.
Brown missed the early part of the Sydney autumn carnival due firstly to overseas commitments and suspension before a broken shoulder put him on the sidelines for the remainder.
Among the winning rides he missed out on was Melito's Group One triumph in the TJ Smith Stakes.
Brown's manager Brett Grant said he and Brown would weigh up the options over the next couple of days.
Since he returned to riding a couple of weeks ago, Brown has been in demand and has renewed his bid for the Sydney jockeys' premiership, sitting just eight wins behind Nash Rawiller despite his time out.
In Brown's absence, Blake Shinn has ridden Melito in her past four starts which have netted three Group One placings as well as her TJ Smith victory, the latest when third to Hot Danish in Saturday's Doomben 10,000.
"Blake is not sure he will be able to get down to the 51-1/2 kilos Melito has in the Stradbroke," Ryan said.
"The ride has been offered to Corey so we just have to wait and see.
"But all going well, she will definitely run in the Stradbroke unless she tells us in the next 10 days that she doesn't want to go there.
"But she just keeps turning up and shows no signs of wanting to stop.
"I was so proud of her on Saturday, she just tries her guts out.
"Her past four runs she's been up against the best in Australia and she is just so tough."
Melito is a $9 chance with TAB Sportsbet for the Stradbroke with Whobegotyou displacing Ortensia as favourite following his second in the 10,000.
Ryan confirmed Rothesay would not go to the Stradbroke on the same day as the preferred option, the Queensland Guineas (1600m).
"We'll keep him to his own age group rather than take on the Stradbroke," Ryan said.
Rothesay is still listed in markets as an $11 Stradbroke chance alongside Love Conquers All who is also unlikely to run.
