Corey Brown will return to the saddle on Wednesday with close to a full book of rides.

Brown missed Saturday's important Chipping Norton Stakes meeting in Sydney because of injuries he sustained the day before in a tie-up stall incident with an unraced galloper who was getting ready for a barrier trial.

"He is still very, very sore but he expects to get a doctor's clearance to ride on Wednesday," Brown's booking agent Brett Grant said.

"There is still 48 hours before the meeting to get himself right and he'll be spending plenty of time in the Radox bath."

Brown feared his autumn carnival was over before it started when he was momentarily pinned to the ground by the horse before the last barrier trial at Randwick.

The Melbourne Cup-winning jockey was taken to St Vincent's Hospital complaining of chest, rib, shoulder and back pain but he was cleared of any breaks.

He has been booked to ride in seven of the eight races at Canterbury on Wednesday ahead of Saturday's Festival of Racing finale at Flemington.

Brown will continue his autumn association with Shocking, the horse he rode to victory in the 2009 Melbourne Cup, in the Australian Cup.

He has also picked up the Newmarket Handicap ride on King Pulse and will partner New Zealand stakes performed filly Twilight Savings in the Kewney Stakes.

Sydney filly Florentina also promises to be an important ride for Brown if she runs in the VRC Sires' Produce Stakes while handicaps will determine if he has the mount on Shocking's stablemate Undeniably in the Listed First 4 Jackpot Stakes.

Florentina, a member of the David Payne yard, stamped herself as a horse with a future despite being no match for Helmet when she ran a debut second to the in-form Darley youngster at Rosehill on February 19.

She is also nominated for the Sweet Embrace Stakes at Warwick Farm.

Among Brown's mounts at Canterbury will be unraced two-year-old Champalou for trainer Chris Waller and the Ingham Racing Syndicate in the Grand Pavilion Handicap (1200m).

Champalou steps out on raceday for the first time on the back of five barrier trials.

By Encosta De Lago, the filly is the second foal of the Zabeel mare Vouvray, winner of the 2004 Queensland Oaks.

She cost $300,000 at last year's Easter yearling sale.

Her most recent barrier trial resulted in a three-quarter length win at Rosehill last week.
