Corey Brown's decision to ride at Eagle Farm on Saturday has boosted trainer Tony Gollan's confidence going into the George Moore Stakes with Temple Of Boom.

Brown decided to head north primarily to ride the Paul Messara-trained last start Rosehill winner Pyrography in the Listed Mode Plate (1200m).

Brown immediately contacted Gollan seeking the ride on Temple Of Boom in the Group Three George Moore Stakes following his success on the four-year-old in the Listed Swisse Stakes (1100m) at Flemington last month.

"If Temple Of Boom runs well then he'll have his next start in the Magic Millions Sprint (1000m) next month but if he doesn't please me he may need to run in the Bat Out Of Hell on New Year's Day," Gollan said.

"Corey is coming up to ride him which gives you some extra confidence and he's keen to ride him on Magic Millions day as well."

Gollan has yet to win a Group race but has gone close on several occasions.

"I've been placed in a few Group races and I'd love to win one if lady luck smiles on me," he said.

"I've had so many close finishes in Group races I'm due for a win."

Gollan rates the 1200m feature an open event following the non-appearance of star galloper Burdekin Blues.

"The less better ones in the race the better," Gollan said.

"Not having Burdekin Blues there might change the tempo of the race a bit but it's still a very strong field.

"It's no easier just because Burdekin Blues isn't there."

Temple Of Boom has not yet won over 1200 metres in seven attempts but Gollan isn't concerned with the statistic.

"I would have liked less than 55 kilograms but after his win down the straight at Flemington he's probably deserved the weight," he said.

"He's been placed five times over the trip and I'm not worried about it the way he finished off his Flemington win.

"He's a lot stronger horse now and given a good run the trip is not a problem.

"I'm sure he'll be right in the finish."

Gollan rates Temple Of Boom the most versatile galloper in his stable.

"This is the best he's been in his life and he's the most versatile horse I've got," he said.

"Early in his career he used to lead but he's been ridden off the pace a few times and he can come from behind as well."

Gollan has also taken heart from the form line out of the Swisse Stakes in which fellow Queenslander, Falco Star finished fourth.

The Liam Birchley-trained Falco Star followed up his Swisse Stakes performance with a powerful win in the Keith Noud Quality (1200m) at Doomben last month.
