Magic Millions Sprint winner Temple Of Boom has suffered a setback putting a trip to Sydney for the Group One Galaxy at Randwick in doubt.

Trainer Tony Gollan has been working overtime to get Temple Of Boom fit for the 1100-metre sprint on April 16 after he struck himself jumping a puddle in trackwork earlier this month.

"He was just trotting around when he struck himself jumping a puddle," Gollan said.

"It was a freak accident but luckily there's no long time term damage.

"He took some skin off which required a few stitches but there hasn't been any structural problems.

"The stitches are out now and he never got an infection."

Gollan will make a decision later this week whether the four-year-old can continue his autumn campaign.

"I was going to take him down for the Sebring and then the Galaxy and come back home for the Stradbroke," he said.

"I haven't made up my mind which way to go yet and it's 50-50 whether he'll go to Sydney.

"If he doesn't go away I'll just get him ready for the Lightning Handicap here.

"It's only about seven weeks to the Galaxy and five to the Sebring on Golden Slipper day and he won't have time to have a run beforehand but I could trial him."

Gollan is keen to head back to Melbourne with Temple Of Boom in the spring following his success in the Listed Swisse Stakes (1100m) at Flemington in November.

Stablemates Spirit Of Boom and Listen Son could join him interstate for the Melbourne spring carnival.

Temple Of Boom hasn't raced since scoring a narrow win over Huckleberry Dane in the Magic millions Sprint (1000m) at the Gold Coast last month.

Gollan has several options available with Temple Of Boom during the winter carnival.

"The Lightning is what we'd probably aim for but he could go for the Stradbroke," he said.

"The problem with the Stradbroke is finding a suitable lead-up campaign.

"Weight-for-age is not his go so he wouldn't run in the BTC Cup and the Doomben 10,000. I suspect he'd have to qualify for the Stradbroke so he may have to run in the QTC Cup."

The winner of the Group Two QTC Cup (1200m) at Eagle Farm on June 4 will automatically qualify for the Group One Stradbroke (1400m) a week later.

Spirit Of Boom, a last start winner at Eagle Farm on Australia Day, will have his next start in late April before the Listed Prime Minister's Cup (1300m) at the Gold Coast on May 7.

The three-year-old will then tackle the QTC Cup and if successful will be given his chance in the Stradbroke.
