Leading Queensland jockey Glen Colless has celebrated his 41st birthday in style with a winning double at Warwick Farm.

Colless landed the brace on the Jack Denham-trained Afghani with the win giving him a race-to-race double after booting home Moulin Lady for Gold Coast trainer Alan Bailey.

The hoop is a stable rider for Bailey and the pair have enjoyed plenty of recent success in Sydney over the last month with Charming Rogue claiming a couple of wins at Rosehill.

"That's a nice present to give myself on my birthday," Colless said.

"We've done all right here in the last five weeks or so but I'll go back to Brisbane and I'll be staying there for a while now.

"It was nice also to ride a winner for Jack. I've had a good association with him and have been riding on and off for him over the years whenever he brings horses up to Brisbane."

Moulin Lady ($2.45 fav) was given a nice run on the fence and lifted in the closing stages to fend off the challenge of Leave Now ($7.50) by a long head in the Canley Heights Handicap (1300m).

"She's a nice filly and this trip will do her the world of good, she's definitely got a future," Colless said.

"She's been staying here with Kevin Moses and he's done a good job for Alan."

Afghani ($8.50) was saved for a late dash by Colless and defeated Toughened ($9) by a neck in the Chipping Norton Handicap (1100m).

Meanwhile, renowned Scone horseman Greg Bennett made a successful hit-and-run mission to Sydney when Cruisy Lady won the Casula Handicap (1300m).

Ridden by Tye Angland, the five-year-old, who started at $15, stormed home to defeat Miss Celebrity ($18) by a half length.

"She's a horse who has had a few problems and it was nice to see her put it together," Bennett said.

"Credit goes to Tye, he gave her a perfect ride, she had plenty of space to wind up and show her best."

Trainer Chris Waller continued his success with tried horses purchased in the UK when Future's Dream won the Lansvale Handicap with Corey Brown in the saddle.

The victory gave Brown a winning double after earlier booting home Deltona for Moses.
