Trainer Grahame Begg looks to have struck a nice balance for his two-pronged assault on Saturday's Listed Keith Mackay Quality at Randwick.

In Mafia Miss he will have the most experienced two-year-old in the field while debutante Dreamworker will be the new kid on the block.

Dreamworker is one of two first starters along with the Gary Portelli-trained Offshore Sham but Begg believes she won't be out of her depth.

"She's a very well-bred Encosta De Lago filly, we like her a bit," Begg said.

"It will be more an educational thing, running her and turning her out but she's trialled nicely and she's shown enough in her trials.

"We thought we'd run her on a big track over 1200 metres and see what happens."

Dreamworker is the second foal out of 2003 Wakeful Stakes winner Timbourina who in turn is out of good broodmare Valourina.

Valourina is also the dam of dual Group winner Media, Listed winner Cardinal Virtue and stakes placegetters Gallantree and Rubric.

Blake Shinn has the mount on Dreamworker who has gate five while apprentice Brenton Avdulla will partner Mafia Miss from barrier 10.

The youngster was runner-up in the Gimcrack Stakes on debut in the spring and the Widden Stakes first-up this campaign.

She hasn't finished far from some of the country's top juveniles in four runs since, including a 5-1/2 length sixth to Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily in the Sweet Embrace Stakes.

She was unplaced in the Group One Sires' Produce Stakes (1400m) won by Yosei last Saturday and while Begg was expecting better he said the race wasn't run to suit the backmarker.

"She was disappointing, I think the race wasn't run to suit her," Begg said.

"She got on the bit pulling which is unusual for her.

"If you look at the sectionals of the race it was farcically run."

Begg will also be represented in the feature race at Randwick with Palacio De Cristal to fly the flag in the Group One Doncaster Mile (1600m).

Stable star All Silent is still serving his quarantine period in Dubai after finishing fifth to Joy And Fun in the Al Quoz Sprint on March 27 and Begg hopes he will be back for another crack at the major spring sprints.
