MELBOURNE Cup favorite Puissance De Lune is a fortnight away from having his spring campaign cranked up.

Trainer Darren Weir said the former French stayer has now been back in work for one month and he would increase the rising six-year-old's training regimen at the start of July.

“Everything is great, he’s where he needs to be,” Weir said.

“His legs are cold and he’s sound. He’ll tick over for another two weeks and then we’ll start doing a little more.”

Weir said Puissance De Lune was stabled at his Warrnambool stables and would do most of his spring preparation down at the beach.

“He’ll do most of his work in the water and deep sand and up the sand dunes,” Weir said.

“He looks fantastic, he’s matured. He’s got a bit more body about him, which is good. He didn’t ‘bully’ up, he just furnished all over.”

Weir said he had not selected a resumption race for Puissance De Lune, whose only appearance in the autumn saw him dead-heat for first in the Blamey Stakes at Flemington on March 9. (Racing Network).
