The PPD Club's master tipster Brian Blackwell landed yet another Caulfield Cup triumph on Saturday. For the second year in a row, BB tipped the winner - and for good measure he also tipped the quinella & exacta pairing!

Last year, Brioan handed out the tip for Dunaden at big odds - and this year he tipped the 1st/2nd result - FAWKNER 1st $12.10 and DANDINO 2nd $12.00/$3.50. The quinella paid $51 and the exacta $119. And here is exactly what BB told PPD Club members:

"As longtime members know, I like to skirt around the favourites in major races and shoot for a KO winner, and it’s a tactic that has paid off handsomely over the last 18 years. In the Caulfield Cup (Grp 1) 2400m at Caulfield on Saturday I am moving only a short ‘trip’ away from the favourites in suggesting that the Aussie-owned import (2) Dandino 9/1 is the eachway special. The 7YO entire has impressive credentials, he’s been working well at Werribee and he has our #1 big-race jockey Craig Williams aboard – a factor that may be an advantage in overcoming Dandino’s wide barrier (#16). Dandino comes into the race off a break since winning the USA St Leger 2700m at Arlington on Aug 17. He scored a decisive victory in that race. Before that he was 2nd in the Grp 2 Hardwicke 2400m at Ascot UK on June 22, btn only a length after striking interference from a riderless horse entering the straight. His career formlines show 25 starts for 8 wins, 8 2nds and one 3rd. The danger, if we go around the favourites, could be (7) Fawkner 12/1 from the Lloyd and Nick Williams team. This Reset 6YO has been chosen as the stable’s sole representative and it’s the race for which L and N have planned for him for 12 months. Nick Hall probably went 50m too soon on him in the Turnbull 2000m Grp 1 at Flem on Oct 5. He sprinted sharply but was collared in the final 50m to run 3rd/16, btn a long neck. If Hall can have him in the right slot into the straight and produces him with a 200m  final burst then Fawkner will be hard to beat."
