Latest news says ehe Australian Quarantine [AQIS] department has put a stop to a Japanese tilt on the 2009 Melbourne Cup. Racing Victoria racing ops boss Leigh Jordon told Sky Sports Radio that quarantine protocols for Japanese horses won't be finalised until after the Melbourne Cup is run in November.
