Premier's Cup winner Tabulate is chasing the Brisbane Cup. Trainer Rob Heathcote says: 'He's been crying out for 2400 metres as he showed by the way he hit the line today and we'll keep taking him to the beach and keeping him fresh in the mind...He's a very resilient horse and how nice would it be to win the Brisbane Cup on my home turf.'

Great to read Robbie Waterhouse's 'pat on the back' for his legendary dad Bill Waterhouse, who has retired from bookmaking at 88. Robbie says: 'In real terms, dad's betting all those years ago is still extraordinary. His duels with punters such as Frank Duval, Felipe Ysmael, Peter Huxley and Ray Hopkins are legendary and have never been matched. The million dollars dad put on the line with Duval one day in Melbourne in 1966 would have bought many houses then in Point Piper. Incredibly, he came back at 80 as a bookmaker, after 17 years wrongly on the outer over Fine Cotton, working his way back to be the top holder...When dad recently released his memoirs, What are the Odds?, he was amazed at the widespread response to his feats on and off the track. Although he still loves racing, he realises that the age of 88 it's time to step aside. Yesterday was his last in an official capacity at Royal Randwick. That doesn't mean he will stop coming to the office at 8 am - even Sundays! And I hope he may still go to the races and be a clerk for me ...'
