Look who's back...It's Nom de Jeu, the 2008 AJC Derby winner at 33/1 (a great win for PPD Club members!). Trainer Murray Baker says: 'He had some tests last week and we were advised to keep going with him...He looks terrific and has matured into a lovely horse.' Will he have another crack at the Melbourne Cup? Maybe. Baker, who trains in partnership with son Bjorn, will run Nom Du Jeu in a barrier trial in August and then two lead-up runs before heading into the Kelt Stakes (2000m) at Hastings in early October. How he fares in those races will determine whether he tries Melbourne again.

Monday's meeting at Benalla has been postponed. Sections of the rain-hit track at the 1200m, 1600m and 300m were found to be unsuitable for racing.

Damien Oliver's bid for an 8th Melbourne jockeys' premiership is still alive. He's had two city meetings removed from a 3-meeting careless riding suspension which means he is free to resume riding at Flemington on Saturday. One of his rides will be on the Colin Little trained 3YO Rain In Africa in the $100,000 Silver Bowl Series Final.
