There isn't a lot of mystery to today's feature at Sha Tin, with Divine Calling certain to be at prohibitive odds-on in the Chevalier Cup (1,600m) and looking the winner, reports Racing Post HK.

Divine Calling (Joao Moreira) arrived with some Group One form from Australia in his three-year-old season and the Tony Millard-trained gelding needed only to produce something like that to win his Class Two debut.

And win it he did, with Zac Purton never letting him out of third gear and that soft win has not only been franked by the form of those who chased him home but having an easy time of it should assist him in reproducing his form today.

That could be a concern in some cases, with the grey having his first race in a year when he beat Beauty Flame and Dundonnell on October 12, but the fact he didn't have to give anything like his best effort should ensure there is no bounce factor.

Millard has still taken care to give Divine Calling a good break between his runs, keeping him ticking with barrier trial a week ago, and it appears only the great uncertainty of racing could see Divine Calling go over today.

He ticks all boxes with the step up to 1,600m no issue since his best form in Australia was at that distance, and everything on the map suggests he will enjoy pretty much the same trip through the race as he did when he won first-up.

Khaya hasn't exactly bounced the gates lately but he, Pleasure Gains and Flame Hero look the potential leaders, with Divine Calling quickly crossing Ashkiyr inside him and settling again in the box seat.

With a cloud over major Classic Mile rival Luger after he had a heart irregularity when resuming, Divine Calling casts a big shadow over that Group One in January but, with everything looking to be laid out for him today, he does still need to maintain that standing by winning comfortably.

He won't be much of a betting prospect but perhaps the quinella will be the way to go with Pleasure Gains(Neil Callan) and Winning Leader (Andreas Suborics) at some value overnight for the second spot.

Pleasure Gains is somewhat underrated and did a good job winning at Happy Valley last time over 1,800m when the pace was strong but he held on well to beat a line of run-on horses. The pace shouldn't be so strong this time and he should be competitive with the runners which don't carry the S282 brand.
