Interesting? Yes, I thought so too.
Did he pull the wrong rein? On post-race evidence, Without Compromise might well have won the next race and taken a cool $65,000 home. My guess is that the horse did EXACTLY what Bart expected it to do at this stage (perhaps he felt it might win... but might not...) and that he has something planned in the next three or four weeks. Or just maybe a bit longer.
Let's just see where he goes next. Will he try eventually for Newcastle in September? We'll use the horse's program to try to teach ourselves a lesson from the Master.
