A GALLOP this morning (Tuesday) will determine whether promising three-year-old Dusty Star lines up in the group 3 Bletchingly Stakes (1200 metres) at Caulfield on Saturday, reports The Age. It says: Dusty Star, who won the group 2 Autumn Stakes last preparation, has not raced since failing in the Australian Guineas in March. His trainer, Peter Morgan, believes the son of General Nediym might be better suited resuming in Saturday's race rather than waiting for the Liston Stakes over 1400 metres

His trainer, Peter Morgan, believes the son of General Nediym might be better suited resuming in Saturday's race rather than waiting for the Liston Stakes over 1400 metres a fortnight later.

''Going first-up into the Liston against the better horses might be a tough task, so as long as he works OK in the morning, he'll go around on Saturday,'' he said.

Leading jockey Craig Williams, who resumed riding at Flemington last Saturday after a trip to Japan and finished second in the Bletchingly last year aboard Stanzout, has been booked to ride Dusty Star. The Bletchingly Stakes has attracted 12 nominations, headed by Darley's group 1-performed sprinter Pinwheel. But Darley head trainer Peter Snowden will analyse the entries before committing to a start.
