WARWICK FARM trainer Toby Edmonds hopes a connection with former mighty galloper Kingston Town can help talented mare Limani maintain winning form when she goes around in the final event at Randwick today, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

Its report adds: Limani was recently bought at a Gold Coast broodmare sale by Cathy Hains, daughter of David Hains, who raced the great Kingston Town as well as Rose Of Kingston and Melbourne Cup winner Kingston Rule.

"I had been training Limani before it went to the sale and she was bought there for $55,000 on behalf of Cathy Hains," Edmonds said yesterday.

"I rang Steve Brem, who the horse was knocked down to, and asked if there was a chance she could keep racing on until she goes to stud, and they agreed, so I managed to hold on to the horse."

Edmonds said Limani was the first horse Cathy Hains had raced in a long while, and added: "She's been lucky for me so far. Limani had her first run for Cathy at Rosehill a couple of weeks ago and won really well.

"Before that the horse had been racing pretty well in good company. She'd been knocking on the door for a win and it was great for Cathy to get a result."
