QUEENSLAND stewards will supervise a jump-out by Dariana at Eagle Farm's breakfast with the stars this morning before clearing the Bart Cummings-trained filly to run in the Queensland Derby on Saturday, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

It says: Dariana failed to jump from the barriers as favourite in last Saturday's Queensland Oaks after she swung her head into an adjoining stall as the gates opened. She was declared a runner after stewards ruled she was not denied a fair start.

Under the rules, Dariana could have been sent for two barrier trials. But chief steward Wade Birch, after interviewing Cummings's travelling foreman, Reg Fleming, about the circumstances of the Oaks mishap, yesterday decided if Dariana could jump cleanly today, she would be allowed to take her place in the Derby.

''She had an unblemished record at the barrier before Saturday and given the unique situation of the stable wanting to run in the Derby, we have arranged for a jump-out after she works [today],'' Birch said.
