PERTH trainer Neville Parnham is heading back to the beach to have Playing God at his peak for an attempt at a hat-trick of Kingston Town Classics at Ascot on Saturday, reports The Age.

It says: It is a formula that worked last year when Playing God appeared to have lost form after being well beaten in the Railway Stakes. So Parnham has taken the son of Blackfriars and his full-brother God Has Spoken to the beach in the past week after good efforts in the Railway Stakes a week ago.

"For a fleeting moment in the Railway they looked like they were going to quinella the race but may have taken [the lead] or [were] left in front too soon," Parnham said.
Playing God ran fourth just nosing God Has Spoken into fifth in the Railway and Parnham has been further encouraged by the past week. "Their work has been outstanding since," he said. "They have been worked at the beach each day and are doing super."

Playing God started his campaign in Melbourne and Parnham says he is still a week behind because of it. He will attempt to become the first three-time winner of the race, which dates back to 1976.

Inaugural winner Family Of Man won in 1976 and 1978, while Summer Beau and Old Comrade were back-to-back winners. Summer Beau ran third in his attempt at a hat-trick in 1998 and Niconero also saluted twice.

"I wish I had him back from Melbourne a week earlier for the Railway,'' he said of Playing God. "He is really thriving at the moment and his work on Saturday morning was outstanding. God Has Spoken has won [and run second] at his past two starts at weight-for-age [before his fifth in the Railway] and I could not be happier with him. He is just blossoming and I really expect them to run big races."

Railway runner-up Luckygray is a $2.40 TAB Sportsbet favourite for the Kingston Town, where Playing God is a $4.60 second elect in the final group 1 of the year.
