PETER Moody, Melbourne's leading trainer, said he would have to re-evaluate whether he stayed in Victoria or moved to NSW unless Racing Victoria Ltd moved to a turnover-based model as operated by Racing NSW., reports the Daily Telegraph in Sydney.

Its report adds: Moody said he and wife Sarah were the biggest owners in his stable and "would re-evaluate our future" if the issue wasn't addressed "very, very quickly".

"If the Board doesn't go for this turnover model, we're doomed," Moody said.

RVL recently signed off on a two-year deal with corporate bookies on the basis they pay 10 per cent of gross profits, a figure that spikes to 15 per cent during the six weeks of the spring carnival. Wednesday's Federal Court decision, which rejected appeals by corporate bookies and Betfair against the Racing NSW 1.5 per cent turnover funding model, leaves NSW $50 million annually better off than Victoria.
