AFTER his Cox Plate hopeful So You Think produced a lacklustre gallop at trackwork yesterday, legendary trainer Bart Cummings reminded punters his 1996 superstar winner Saintly had also ''wobbled'' on its first time round the famous Moonee Valley course, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

It says: So You Think yesterday gained a start on Saturday when the Moonee Valley Racing Club committee included him in the Cox Plate field, but the three-year-old's workout around the famously tight track was less than impressive, with some observers mistaking him for a stablemate filly.

''He got a bit lost,'' said Cummings, who last won the Cox Plate with Dane Ripper in 1997 after Saintly had won the race for him in 1996 on the way to a Melbourne Cup triumph. ''Saintly wobbled around that [home] turn the first time he came here, too. Then he did it again when he won the Cox Plate.''

Ridden by Cummings's experienced trackwork rider, Joe Agresta, So You Think worked outside of stablemate and VRC Oaks-bound Faint Perfume and was safely held by the filly, which impressed jockey Michael Rodd.

Faint Perfume worked inside of So You Think but the pair wore different saddlecloths to those advertised, resulting in confusion from seasoned observers as to which horse was which, even though their physical appearances are vastly different.
