Gai Waterhouse has been found guilty and charged $5,500 for failing to keep her treatment records up to date and not reporting the condition of More Joyous in the lead up to the All Aged Stakes, reports Racing Network news.

Waterhouse has not yet indicated whether she will appeal the charges, rather wanting to let the dust settle on another explosive day before deciding to try and clear her name at a higher level.

Racing NSW stewards fined Waterhouse $500 for the first charge of not lodging the two treatments given to More Joyous before the All Aged Stakes.

She was fined $5,000 for the much more serious charge of not reporting the health condition of More Joyous.

"We say that it was a clear breach of your requirement to report a condition, More Joyous was a prepost favourite for the all aged stakes and of course it raced in that particular event, a Group 1 event in a carnival day at Randwick," said chief steward Ray Murrihy.

"The issues like those confronting More Joyous in the lead up to the All Aged Stakes shouldn't have been hidden away from the authorities, being the stewards, we shouldnt have been kept in the dark.

"The public also who supported More Joyous were entitled ot know the issues that the mare had in the lead up to the all Aged Stakes, had those matters been reported it would have seen the Racing NSW vet closely scrutinise the horse, the records in the interest of everyone concerned."
