HE'S fresh, he's muscled up and Whobegotyou is ready to make an immediate impact in his long-awaited return to racing in Saturday's group 1 $500,000 Doomben 10,000 in Brisbane, reports The Age.

It says: The four-year-old's trainer, Mark Kavanagh, confirmed yesterday that the two-time group 1 winner would be flown to Brisbane tonight for his first start in 2010 after more 30 weeks away from the racetrack.

''He's had a couple of jump-outs and he's fresh and happy and he's coming back in good order,'' Kavanagh said. ''He's never had a long break since beginning his career as a late two-year-old, so it was always the plan to give him this long spell and he's reaped the benefits of it as he's muscled up and filled out.''

Whobegotyou was last night rated a $5.50 equal second favourite alongside the mare Hot Danish and behind another mare, Ortensia ($4), for Saturday's group 1. Kavanagh explained that he'd planned last year for Whobegotyou to have a prolonged rest in the first half of 2010 after constant racing at the elite level since he debuted two years ago.

''He went from winning his maiden in the winter to taking out the Caulfield Guineas and finishing second in the [Victoria] derby that spring, and then had some hard racing in Sydney last autumn before another six runs last spring, so he was due a nice rest.''
