Look out for a hot Qld Oaks challenge by Kiwi filly Shez Sinsational. She'll be a late arrival but everything is 'on target' for her Aussie campaign. She's off the list of Kkiwi stars set to fly to Brisbane on Wednesday but the Queensland Oaks remains firmly on the plans. Shez Sinsational notched an impressive 6 lens win over 2000m at Te Rapa on Saturday, and trainer Allan Sharrock says: 'I'm thrilled with that run...I was a bit worried about getting to Brisbane too soon because she's been a filly inclined to lose body weight quickly, so I cancelled plans to run her in the New Zealand Oaks in March because she was a bit light and planned for the Queensland Oaks to give her some extra time...The Doomben Roses on May 21 was an option but now I think she is better staying at home and I'll give her an easier race here and then go straight into the Queensland race.'

The Kiwis are packing plenty of power for the Qld Oaks. As well as Shez Sinsational, they have a key contender in the smart Te Rapa winner Scarlett Lady. The Graeme Rogerson-trained Savabeel 3YO won the Grp 2 Travis Stakes (2000m) on Saturday, taking her tally to 4 wins from 8 runs.
