JOCKEY Chris Munce's blueprint to making the weight of 49.5 kilograms to ride Cox Plate hopeful All Too Hard in tomorrow's $3 million Cox Plate is a simple one, ''eat less and exercise more'', reports The Age.

It says: Speaking from Brisbane, where he is based, Munce said his efforts to reach the lightweight for the race were made easier having been given a week to start looking after himself.

While Munce is considered one of Australia's most experienced lightweights, the jockey is aware the Cox Plate will again be a pressure race.

''I have had six rides in the race and was lucky enough to have won it back in 2004 [Savabeel] but it is a high pressure race. As far as All Too Hard is concerned, he shapes like the 2000 metres will be within his grasp,'' he said. ''None of us really know how all the three-year-olds will cope with the trip, but looking at the Caulfield Guineas win, he shaped as though the extra trip would not bother him.''

Munce said he was more than likely going to be back midfield in the early stages and would have to plot a path into the race when the backmarkers began their runs.

''I have been on him before up in Sydney. I thought his run for me in the George Main stakes was great. There was no pace on at all. He wasn't great away, yet he finished his race off well,'' he said.

He's got a barrier blanket this time around, which will help, and you rarely see a Cox Plate run without a good strong speed, which will be a super aid to All Too Hard's chances.
