THE impending arrival of Japanese mare **H*Hana’s Goal** for the Sydney Championships is threatened by a snow storm, reports Racing Network. IRT’s managing director Chris Burke said the weather conditions in Tokyo would be monitored over the coming hours to see if it is possible for the flight bringing **H*Hana’s Goal** to Melbourne can depart.
Burke said the flight is due to leave at 8pm Tokyo time, but that would be dependent on the looming snow storm.
“Depending on the snow storm that is coming through it might cause a delay,” Burke said.
Burke said if the flight is cancelled then **H*Hana’s Goal** would not leave until the following Friday.
“Realistically, it pushes her departure back a week. The connection on the airline only occurs once a week,” he said.
“If there is any chance they can get out today they will. We’ll know more later in the day.”
**H*Hana’s Goal** was expected to arrive at Werribee quarantine facility tomorrow at about 10pm.
The dual Group 3 winner will spend two weeks in quarantine at Werribee before moving to Sydney.
It is expected that **H*Hana’s Goal** will run in the $500,000 Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500 m) at Rosehill on March 22 and then run in the $3 million Group 1 Doncaster Handicap (1600 m) at Randwick on April 12.
