Queensland Derby hopeful Man From Oz may be forced to run at the provincials next week if he misses a start in the Group Three Rough Habit Plate at Doomben.

Man From Oz is the first emergency in Saturday's 2020m feature but at least trainer Kelso wood will still have a representative with stablemate Igles Star.

"It's very disappointing and if he doesn't get a run it's going to upset his Derby program," Wood said.

"There's nothing around for him other than a 2200 metre race at the Gold Coast next Saturday.

"If he's going to the Derby he'll need to start in the Rough Habit or at the Gold Coast.

"I'm just praying something will come out."

The Group One Queensland Derby (2400m) is at run at Eagle Farm on June 11.

Wood had no luck in the barrier draw with either of his Rough Habit Plate hopefuls with Man From Oz drawing awkwardly in 10 while Igles Star drew further out in barrier 15.

Man From Oz ran a slashing Derby trial in the Group Three Gunsynd Classic at Eagle Farm last month when a fast-finishing seventh, just over three lengths from winner Chateau Fort, who is also on the Derby trail in the Rough Habit Plate.

"It was a great run. He missed the kick and got squeezed out at the start and had to come from a long way back in the field," Wood said.

Chris Munce rode Man From Oz in the Gunsynd Classic and has first refusal to ride the son of General Nediym in the Queensland Derby.

Wood was also pleased with Igles Star's performance in the Gunsynd Classic when the son of Iglesia hit the line well for third.

"I couldn't fault his effort. He ran a good race," Wood said.

Wood believes Igles Star will have no trouble running Queensland Derby distance and is also confident Man From Oz will get the trip following his Gunsynd Classic performance.

Black Caviar's jockey Luke Nolen has been booked to partner the Rob Heathcote-trained Fillydelphia following Larry Cassidy's decision to stay with the Paul Messara-trained Chateau Fort.

Fillydelphia has been disappointing this campaign, failing in all her three runs including her last start 12th in the Gunsynd Classic.
