Southeast Queensland's big wet has forced the cancellation of the Doomben meeting on Wednesday.

Brisbane Racing Club course manager Bill Shuck said Queensland Racing Limited stewards made the right call to abandon the meeting early on Tuesday.

"We've had 60 millimetres of rain overnight for a total of 100 millimetres since Saturday," Shuck said.

"The forecast for the rest of today and tomorrow is for more heavy rain so Queensland Racing has made a good early call to abandon the meeting.

"It will give owners and trainers more time to nominate their horses elsewhere."

The Doomben cancellation followed Tuesday's barrier trials at Toowoomba being abandoned due to heavy rain and driving wind.

The fate of Thursday's Ipswich meeting will be decided following a track inspection on Wednesday.

Ipswich was rated a heavy 10 on Tuesday following 80 millimetres of rain in the past 24 hours.

Friday's meeting is scheduled for the cushion track at Caloundra where 198mm of rain has fallen over the past seven days including 128mm on Monday night.
