Trusting will be back to the scene of his most recent victory when he chases a breakthrough Group One success in Saturday's Ranvet Stakes.

The multiple stakeswinning entire returned to winning form last spring with back-to-back Group Two weight-for-age victories in the Chelmsford Stakes and Hill Stakes.

His dominant 3-3/4-length Hill Stakes win in September was over the 2000 metres at Rosehill which is the same as Saturday's Ranvet Stakes where jockey Blake Shinn takes over from Singapore-based Joao Moreira.

Shinn has never ridden Trusting in a race but has been aboard in two barrier trials earlier this year as well as his recent trackwork.

"Trusting has been set for the Ranvet," Shinn said.

"He's come to hand fantastic and his work has been solid all week. I couldn't be happier with him."

Trusting finished eighth first-up in the Apollo Stakes (1400m) before box-seating in the Group One Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) when third to the Chris Waller-trained duo of Shoot Out and Danleigh.

Trainer John Thompson believes Trusting will be better suited up to the 2000 metres third-up and with more room to move in running.

The Ranvet has attracted nine individual Group One winners among the 15 nominations including last year's winner Zavite as well as Australian Cup hero Manighar and Caulfield Cup winner Southern Speed.

"It's a tough race but he's a Group One performer and looks a leading chance in that race," Shinn said.

Trusting has won three times at Group Two level and has finished second on three occasions in Group One contests.

Shinn will also partner the Patinack Farm-owned two-year-old filly Hussousa in Saturday's Group Two Reisling Slipper Trial (1200m).

Shinn rode Hussousa in a pleasing trackwork hitout at Randwick on Tuesday with the addition of blinkers which she is expected to wear in Saturday's race.

"I think the blinkers will be a plus," Shinn said.

"It's a very tough race but she looks to be peaking at the right time.

"I rode her this morning in the blinkers and she seemed to handle them fine. We'll know more on race day but they seemed to switch her on a bit more.

"She's definitely come on a lot since I first rode her in the trials and I'm looking forward to Saturday."

Hussousa won the Gimcrack Stakes on debut and has been placed in the Widden Stakes and Silver Slipper in her two starts this preparation.
