John Thompson might have left his position as Bart Cummings' long-time foreman to train for Nathan Tinkler's Patinack Farm but the Cups King is still making his presence felt.

Thompson celebrated a win at Rosehill on Saturday with three-year-old filly No Evidence Needed.

Her breeder? JB Cummings.

"The old boss is still helping me," Thompson said before quickly adding, "or I'm still helping him. I don't know which one."

No Evidence Needed is by imported stallion Shamardal out of Group Two placegetter Generosa who was trained by Cummings and finished fifth to Special Harmony in the 2003 VRC Oaks.

The victory by Thompson's filly in Saturday's Southern Sheet & Coil Hcp (1500m) was her third in succession and the Warwick Farm horseman said she was a stayer on the way up.

"She'll get further, her dam ran fifth in an Oaks and ran well in one of the Oaks lead-ups," he said.

"She could develop into an Oaks filly.

"She's learning the caper, she's a real professional and she's going places."

No Evidence Needed started the $4 equal favourite and after trailing the speed she shook off pacemaker Modonna ($4 eq fav) to score by 2-1/4 lengths with Saint Chaparral ($5.50) another half-length away third.

Her win gave Corey Brown a double after he took out the opening race on smart two-year-old Ambers Waltz.
