A new found maturity has Belle Soleil on target for Magic Millions riches on the Gold Coast following a dominant victory in the Wyong leadup.

With trainer Gary Portelli on holiday in Queensland, bloodstock agent Vin Cox who purchased the horse for $220,000, was the stable spokesman at Wyong on Sunday where the filly won the $100,000 Magic Millions Stakes (1200m).

"We'll have to leave Gary up there permanently," Cox said.

"We always knew she was a nice horse but it was just a matter of hoping that she would settle and finish over the top of them and she did very well today.

"She's always shown a lot and it was just a matter of getting her head right, hopefully that's happened now."

Ridden by Glyn Schofield, the Redoute's Choice filly raced to the lead on straightening before hitting top gear at the 200 metres and going on to defeat the fast finishing We're Lucky by 1-1/2 lengths with Rare Diamond third in the 1200 metre, $100,000 race.

Schofield said the race was in his keeping along way from home.

"I got to the lead early but I had so much horse under me that I was very confident down the straight," Schofield said.

The race was run on a slow track after a storm swept through the NSW Central Coast in the middle of the afternoon.

The Magic Millions Three-Year-Old Trophy on January 10 carries prizemoney of $1 million.

"It's a very nice race and I'm sure Gary will have a look at it but he will make that decision when he gets back," Cox said.

Cox said the filly could prove to be a bargain buy.

"When you look at that sale and the fact they were averaging over $600,000, what we paid for her being a Redoute's is looking better all the time," Cox said.

"I couldn't see much wrong with her at the time and was surprised that we ended up getting her for $220,000 and the clients were happy too."
