A sparkling track gallop by Triple Honour has renewed trainer Chris Waller's confidence going into the George Main Stakes at Randwick.

The Doncaster Handicap winner was beaten by Gallant Tess in the Chelmsford Stakes when Waller experimented with removing the blinkers but they will be back on for Saturday's Group One weight-for-age feature.

"He worked extremely well on Saturday morning with the blinkers back on," Waller said.

"He travelled outside another horse and went as straight as a die.

"I couldn't have been happier with him."

Triple Honour is currently the second favourite for the Epsom Handicap (1600m) on October 4 but the George Main will determine his path.

"We are still keen to get him to Melbourne," Waller said.

"The Epsom is still a possibility but the George Main fits in better if we were to decide on a Cox Plate start.

"He would run two weeks after the George Main and then it's two weeks to the Cox Plate which is ideal.

"The George Main will tell us more."

Waller believes the best of Triple Honour won't be seen until next year by which time he hopes he will have outgrown his tendency to hang in during his races.

Waller's thoughts aside, Triple Honour has won six of his 11 starts including the Group One Doncaster (1600m) and was only beaten a nose in the Randwick Guineas by Weekend Hussler.

The trainer is more than comfortable with his decision to save promising filly Love And Kisses for the Stan Fox Stakes (1400m) at the Randwick meeting rather than run her in the Tea Rose Stakes (1500m).

Even though running in the Stan Fox means Love And Kisses will be taking on the colts and geldings, it also means she avoids Samantha Miss.

Love And Kisses has had two starts this preparation for placings in the Silver Shadow Stakes and Furious Stakes both won by Samantha Miss.

The Silver Shadow, Furious and Tea Rose are the first three legs of the four-race Princess Series with Samantha Miss on target to become just the second filly to complete a clean sweep in the Group One Flight Stakes since Angst in 1993.

"I'm happy with the decision not to run her in the Tea Rose, we would have been running for second again," Waller said.

"Love And Kisses is not a big filly and the 1400 metres suits her at this stage of her preparation."
