Peter Snowden admits he is dodging the Gai Waterhouse-trained More Joyous by bringing Trim from Sydney to Melbourne for Saturday's Group Two Kewney Stakes.

The Lonhro filly resumed with a 1-3/4 length second to More Joyous in the Group Two Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on February 13 with the winner to run in the Surround Stakes at Warwick Farm.

"Trim is a good filly but I've got to put my hand up. I have dodged Gai's filly (More Joyous), she's just too good," Snowden said.

"She's a very talented filly, she broke her heart the other day, she (Trim) tried very hard," Snowden said.

"This is a good option for her and we'll take her to Adelaide if she runs well on Saturday."

The Group One $300,000 Sportingbet Classic (1200m) at Morphettville on March 20 is the race Snowden has earmarked for Trim.

Trim, who has already raced in three states including Queensland, won the TCL Electronics Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on Oaks Day last spring.

Kerrin McEvoy retains the ride on Trim who has drawn nicely in barrier four in the 10-horse field for what will be her first test at 1400m.

The filly hasn't finished further back than second, winning twice, in five starts up to 1200m.

Three-time Sydney winner Gigas, a stablemate of More Joyous, and the John Thompson-trained No Evidence Needed, are also having a crack at the Kewney.

Gigas finished second to Australian Guineas contender Set For Fame in the Angus Armanasco Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield, while No Evidence Needed was fourth in that Group Two event following a first up 1200m win at Caulfield.

"(Race jockey) Brad Rawiller said he couldn't have been happier with her work at Flemington on Tuesday morning," Gai Waterhouse said of Gigas.

"She's very fit, she's very focused and a really good sort. She really wants to get to the line as she did at Caulfield."

Trim is the $3.60 favourite with TAB Sportsbet ahead of Europa Point at $4.20, Irish Lights at $5.50, Victoria Oaks winner Faint Perfume and Rostova at $7 with Gigas next best at $10.
