Controversial Golden Slipper scratching Smart Missile is back in the running for autumn carnival spoils.

Smart Missile took part in a hastily-arranged jumpout in front of stewards on Monday and was cleared to race.

The unbeaten colt was loaded alongside other horses and stood calmly before jumping away on terms.

He was eased down after 100 metres as chief steward Ray Murrihy had no hesitation in lifting a racing embargo on the two-year-old.

Smart Missile went to the barriers as a clear-cut second favourite to win Saturday's Golden Slipper.

But he was denied his chance to compete in race when he became cast in the starting gates, leaving the vet to order his scratching despite a protest from jockey Glen Boss.

Trainer Anthony Cummings gave Smart Missile a rousing gallop on Sunday in anticipation the colt would be cleared to take his place in this week's Group One Sires' Produce Stakes at Randwick.

Smart Missile is the only horse to have beaten the Golden Slipper winner Sepoy but there will be no return clash in the Sires' with the Darley colt now in the spelling paddock.

After winning the Breeders Plate at his debut last year, Smart Missile made a belated return to racing with a shock Todman Stakes win over Sepoy at Rosehill on March 19.

The Chris Waller-trained Fast And Sexy, who was also withdrawn at the barrier before the Slipper, will undergo a barrier test at Rosehill on Tuesday morning and could also run in the Sires'.

"If she behaves herself in the morning there's a possibility she could run," Waller said.

The filly was spooked by the noise of a piece of equipment falling down in the gates and she also got her leg over the partition of the stall.
