Sister Madly has come through a torrid run last start in top order and is ready to back-up and go the distance in the Flight Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.

Trainer Anthony Cummings is pleased with the filly who had her final piece of work at Randwick on Thursday ahead of the 1600-metre Group One race.

"She hadn't been asked to do a whole lot but we have been pleased with what she has done, she worked nicely," Cummings said.

"The barrier (12) is a bit of an issue but we're expecting a good run.

"One of the beauties at the mile start here is that you have a long run into that first turn and there's plenty of time to work out where she can be."

Sister Madly, a half-sister to former world champion sprinter Silent Witness, comes into the race after a long head second to Little Surfer Girl in the Listed Reginald Allen (1400m) last Saturday at Randwick.

The Redoute's Choice filly started the $2.60 favourite and sat second in the running to the outside of leader Dystopia facing a strong wind.

Cummings said the run had plenty of merit.

"You've got to remember that the horse who went with her in that first half of the race finished more than 10 lengths last," Cummings said.

"For her to be up there and to still be coming back at the eventual winner at the furlong (200m) was an excellent run.

"It shows that she's capable of running the mile."

Blake Shinn replaces Tim Clark aboard Sister Madly.

"We'll have to do a bit of work and see what speed there might and what opportunities there are to get in," Cummings said.

"I'm confident she's adaptable enough to take a few options.

"My only concern is that she has been a bit slow out and I've had a chat to Blake about that."

Two starts back Sister Madly came from fifth to defeat Cortina Gal by a length at Rosehill on September 12.

Sister Madly's stablemate Fool's Ride has been thrown in the deep end in the Flight after she broke her maiden status two starts back at Wyong on September 4.

She beat just one runner home over 1400 metres at Warwick Farm on September 22.

TAB Sportsbet has the Gai Waterhouse-trained More Joyous as $1.60 favourite for the Flight Stakes ahead of Melito at $5.

Sister Madly is rated a $14 chance while Fool's Ride is at $151.

More Joyous toyed with her rivals when she defeated Melito by 2-1/4 lengths to win the Tea Rose Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on September 19.

The More Than Ready filly has drawn barrier two and Waterhouse is thrilled with her.

"She's just poetry in motion, she hardly touches the ground when she gallops, she's just thriving," Waterhouse said.
