Jockey Sally Wynne says unbeaten filly Sensational Report is shaping as a potential stakes winner despite her unfashionable pedigree.

The All Chatter three-year-old is not very big but with her brilliant turn of foot brought up her second win when graduating to city class in the Wood Court Inn Handicap (1200m) at Sandown on Wednesday.

"I haven't been as excited about one of our youngsters since Sensational Spot who was a very handy mare," Wynne said.

Owner and breeder Ted Codd has all his horses trained by Wynne's mother Diane Wynne including Sensational Spot who raced four years ago.

Sensational Spot never won a stakes race but went close, finishing second in the Group Three Thoroughbred Club Stakes and Listed Red Roses Stakes.

She also won the Canon Sprint at Flemington on Melbourne Cup day in 2004.

Sensational Report won her first race at Kilmore but her almost blank pedigree gave no hint that she could would be undefeated after two runs.

She is the first foal from Umatilla mare Umaetel whose only win was at 1600m while her granddam was an Al Hareb mare who raced once and her third dam a Red Anchor mare who was unraced.

Sally Wynne said initially the stable almost gave up on Sensational Report even making it to the racetrack because of a range of problems but now she has matured is showing her true ability.

"We had sort of half-written her off but she came back in this preparation and really started to show she had something," Wynne said.

"Really she is push-button - so easy to ride.

"She jumps well, settles anywhere and has got enough speed to be handy but doesn't necessarily need to be."

On Wednesday, Sensational Report settled third last but quickly had the leaders in her sights once the field turned for home.

Under hands and heels riding she scored by three-quarters of a length from the favourite Tahnee Topaz.

"She is such a tough little filly and when you let her down she has certainly got a turn of foot," Wynne said.

Meanwhile, lightly-raced gelding Tictacs packed the Sandown winners' stall with scores of owners after making a successful debut for trainer David Hayes in the Betfair Handicap (1200m).

The Fraar gelding won three of his 10 starts for Stefan Jokic, including an all-the-way win at Sandown, before Hayes and his clients, including the Bryan Martin Racing Club, bought him for $240,000 in August.

Tictacs got a quick return for his connections, scoring by a half-length from Sazonar.
