A shortage of suitable options will force trainer Kelly Schweida to bypass the Magic Millions carnival to chase winter carnival riches with emerging filly Seesawing.

The lightly-raced Seesawing confirmed Schweida's high opinion of her when she scored her third city win from eight starts with a solid performance in the $80,000 QTIS Handicap (1640m) at Doomben on Saturday.

Schweida prepares Seesawing for the newly-elected Brisbane Racing Club chairman Kevin Dixon who paid $24,000 for the Easy Rocking filly as a weanling at the Magic Millions in 2006.

A half-sister to Dixon's former promising mare Playground Express, Seesawing took her prizemoney through $170,000 barrier but Schweida said the brown filly would dodge the Magic Millions carnival in January in preference for the winter carnival.

"She'll head straight to the paddock now," Schweida said.

"I'm confident she'll get a mile and maybe 2000 metres and there's nothing really suitable for her at the Magic Millions so I'll aim her at the winter carnival instead.

"It'll be too hot in January and it's hard to have her ready for both the Magic Millions and the carnival so we'll give her a good spell and save her for the winter."

Seesawing ($4) again proved the nemesis for the gallant Athena's Gift ($2.60) when she outsprinted her arch rival to land her second consecutive city win.

Confidently ridden by Jim Byrne, Seesawing travelled sweetly behind Athena's Gift who set a muddling pace in front and the final sectional of 33.95 seconds made it almost impossible for backmarkers to have an impact on the race.

When the judge called a halt, Seesawing had a length-and-a quarter to spare over Athena's Gift with the Beaudesert-trained River Perfume ($7) working home late to finish two lengths third.

Seesawing was bred by the late Ron Ashdown who raced champion sprinter General Nediym and the dainty filly has now amassed $69,000 in QTIS bonuses from her three metropolitan wins.
