Glyn Schofield has been in scintillating form and the leading jockey is determined to keep it going as the spring carnival hots up.
Schofield, a top-five finisher in the past two Sydney jockeys' premierships, has stormed out of the gates this season with 10 winners in the opening three weeks.
Yet it is in the big races, including Saturday's Warwick Stakes day, where the rider is keen to really make his mark.
"It's been a good start, for sure, but I've just got to keep it rolling on," Schofield said.
"These horses are the ones you want to be on when the good races come around and I've got some really nice horses to ride (on Saturday)."
Two of Gai Waterhouse's spring staying prospects await Schofield at Warwick Farm with Descarado to resume in the day's feature, the Group Two Warwick Stakes (1400m), while Herculian Prince kicks off his campaign in the Listed Show County Quality (1200m).
Schofield hasn't had a lot to do with AJC Australian Derby runner-up Descarado but partnered Herculian Prince to a Listed JRA Plate win in the autumn.
"Descarado's form was pretty good at the end of his three-year-old campaign," Schofield said.
"The only horse to beat him in the Derby (Shoot Out) is the horse being touted as the next superstar."
Herculian Prince, described by Schofield as "having a stride on him from here to next week", could find the 1200m of the Show County short of his best but the jockey believes the gelding can take the step to becoming a serious challenger later in the spring as his distances increase.
"He felt that way to me when I won on him," Schofield said.
"He's a big, rangy horse and seems to have answered everything asked of him so far. He's got to take that next step into Group class but I don't think it should be a problem."
The five-year-old has won seven of his 11 starts and went through last preparation unbeaten, starting with two midweek victories before stepping up to stakes company with wins in the Neville Sellwood Stakes (1900m) and JRA Plate (2000m).
Herculian Prince was rated an $8.50 chance in the Show County Quality on Friday with Neeson and Pinwheel joint favourites at $3.60 and Stryker at $4.80.
Schofield will have his first ride on Golden Slipper minor placegetter More Strawberries in the Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) while he'll be looking for his in-form combination with trainer Chris Waller to continue when he rides Miss Independent in the Listed Toy Show Quality (1400m).
