The newly formed combination of trainer Gerald Ryan and apprentice Ibrahim Gundogdu is off to a flying start with the promise of more to come.

Gundogdu arrived in Sydney last week and struck with a winner at his first ride, the Ryan-trained two-year-old Extraceed.

Ryan has nominated three youngsters for Saturday's two-year-old event at Rosehill but has not yet decided if all will run.

"I will probably run two of them and Ibrahim will be on one but I'm not sure which one yet," Ryan said.

"I'll wait until after the horses work on Tuesday before I decide."

While Peter Snowden and the Darley team have dominated two-year-old racing this season, Ryan has also enjoyed success with the likes of Hot Snitzel, winner of the Queensland Sires' Produce and runner-up to Benfica in the Group One TJ Smith.

La Cloisonne, Proctorville and King Among Kings are the three Ryan entries for Rosehill with the latter two the likely runners.

King Among Kings is particularly dear to Ryan's heart as he owns him in partnership with long-time client David Moodie.

The gelding is by King Of Roses who stands at David Hains' property in Victoria where he usually serves a private book of mares.

"During the EI year (2007), David Hains opened up his stallions to outside mares who couldn't travel to NSW and the stallions they had been booked to," Ryan said.

"That's how Royal Glow got to go to him.

"I saw King Among Kings in the paddock and liked him and I race him with David Moodie.

"He did a bit wrong at his first start at Gosford and had to trial again so hopefully he can do better."

Ryan claimed the Eye Liner Stakes at Ipswich on Saturday with Adnocon and is again looking to Queensland on Saturday where Ironstein runs in the Group Three Tattersall's Cup (2200m) at Eagle Farm.

The winner of the McKell Cup at Rosehill last month, Ironstein ran a solid fourth to Tullamore in the Group Two Brisbane Cup (2400m) last Saturday week.

"He has done really well since the Cup and I'm happy going into Saturday," Ryan said.

"Brenton Avdulla will ride. He won't go to the Caloundra Cup again.

"We'll give him a short break after Saturday and aim him at the Wyong and Newcastle Cups and the Metropolitan."

Ironstein won last year's Caloundra Cup with the renewal of that race on Saturday week.
