Consistent mare Ravishing Reward has a Tasmanian feature sprint double on her agenda as she prepares to kick off her summer campaign at Caulfield.

Trainer Tony Noonan is hopeful the six-year-old daughter of Scenic, who has improved with every campaign, can lift again and enhance her broodmare prospects as a stakes performer.

"She is very consistent and I think she is a black-type sort of mare," Noonan said.

Noonan has earmarked two $100,000 Listed races for fillies and mares as her Tasmanian targets with the Listed Bow Mistress Stakes (1200m) on January 30 leading in to the Vamos Stakes (1400m) at Launceston on February 24.

Saturday's CF Carrier Handicap (1200m) at Caulfield will launch her campaign.

"She trialled very nicely at Cranbourne the other day (when just beaten by It's Snowtime) and she normally runs well fresh," Noonan said.

He would have preferred Saturday's race to be over 1000 metres but Noonan believes that she has the class to be competitive, if not win.

"The 1200 metres might try her out because she is still not wound up but her class might get her there," Noonan said.

Apprentice Jarrod Fry, who won on the Noonan-trained Belscenica last Saturday at Moonee Valley, will ride Ravishing Reward for the first time at Caulfield.

"With his three-kilo claim she will carry 54kg and should run very well," Noonan said.

Lightly-raced mare Chameleon looks one of the main dangers and is the only Caulfield runner for the powerful Peter Snowden stable.

She is bred to stay being by Encosta De Lago from Miss Meliss who ran second in the Saab Quality and 10th in Media Puzzle's Melbourne Cup in 2002, but Paul Snowden said she would be restricted to sprints this campaign.

He said she was unconvincing at her two attempts at 1600 metres when second to Rapid Sensation at Caulfield on Boxing Day last year and fourth to Rose Syrah last start at Flemington in July.

"The plan is to keep her fresh and run her over 1200 metres and no further than 1400 metres," Snowden said.

"There are a few fillies and mares races worth some good money over the Christmas period and she will be aimed at them."

Mark Zahra will ride Chameleon who, at $3.50 with TAB Sportsbet, shades Ravishing Reward ($4.20) for favouritism.
