Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Pompeii Ruler heads the 14 nominations for the Hollindale Stakes at the Gold Coast.

Trainer Mick Price will decide later this week whether to back Pompeii Ruler up in Saturday's Group Two feature ahead of an attack on the Singapore Airlines International Cup on May 17.

Last year's Hollindale winner Scenic Shot is scheduled to defend his title with Damien Oliver to ride the Perth gelding.

Riva San, winner of the 2008 Queensland Oaks-Queensland Derby double, is also among the entries with Melbourne trainer Peter Moody planning to take a strong team north.

The nominations for the Hollindale were the smallest on the Gold Coast card with the Listed Prime Minister's Cup (1300m) attracting 28, the Listed Silk Stocking (1200m) 31 and the Gold Coast Guineas (1200m) and Gold Coast Bracelet (1800) 29 each.

Anthony Cummings-trained stablemates Miss Darcey and Nothin' Leica Cat, who finished third and fourth respectively in the AJC Australian Oaks are both entered for the Bracelet.

Cummings has also sent Prima Nova to Queensland where the mare will run in the Hollindale ahead of a tilt at the Doomben Cup.

A daughter of outstanding race mare Bonanova, Prima Nova earned her trip with victory in the JRA Plate (2000m) during the Sydney autumn carnival.

Belong To Many is scheduled to have her first start for new trainer Gai Waterhouse in the Silk Stocking.

Formerly trained by Barbara Joseph, Belong To Many was sold for $525,000 at the Easter Broodmare Sale after the lease on her syndication expired.

The first Group One race of the Brisbane winter carnival will be held on Saturday week at Doomben when Apache Cat returns to defend his BTC Sprint title.
