Boom jockey William Pike has arrived in Hong Kong with the West Australian jockey's premiership already in his keeping.

Pike, 23, answered an SOS from Hong Kong which is running short of riders for its big-money racing industry.

Hong Kong stewards sidelined another four jockeys for careless riding last week and offered recent Australian import James Winks a fine instead of a ban, as the situation worsened.

Hong Kong officials lured Singapore-based Robbie Fradd to Sha Tin last weekend in a stop-gap measure to keep up numbers.

Pike, fresh from riding three winners at Belmont on Saturday to take his lead in the WA premiership to an unassailable 34 in front of Paul Harvey, was due to arrive in Hong Kong on Monday.

He and American rider Aaron Gryder have answered the call to see Hong Kong through the final four meetings of its season.

It is a chance for Pike to make some early introductions in Hong Kong where he has been given a half-season contract to ride until next February.

The West Australian and Gryder, who rode Well Armed to win this year's Dubai World Cup by 14 lengths, are both expected to be in action at Sha Tin this week.
