Debutant Praecido will be David Payne's lone juvenile representative at Randwick on Boxing Day.

The prolific trainer of juvenile winners also has Bombay nominated for the 1200 metre two-year-olds race but she will be saved for Canterbury on Wednesday December 30.

Praecido is by Europe's 2003 champion juvenile colt One Cool Cat and was purchased for $60,000 in New Zealand. He is raced by a group headed by one of Payne's most prominent owners John Cordina.

The colt comes into Saturday's assignment off a 900 metre barrier trial win at Rosehill on December 8.

"He's out of a Montjeu mare (Felicitous) and so there's plenty of stamina there and while I expect him to get better over longer, 1200 metres won't be too bad for him," Payne said.

"He's had three trials and done well in all of them for us. He went around in September then we put him out and I'm very happy with the way he's returned," Payne said.

The beautifully bred Bombay is raced by Coolmore Stud.

The filly, by Encosta De Lago out of Danehill mare Sarasota, a daughter of Piccadilly Circus, was third to Blackball on debut at Rosehill on November 14 over 1100 metres.

The filly is one of two Coolmore owned horses in the Payne stable.

"We've got Bombay and an unraced Danehill Dancer filly Swan River for them too," Payne said.

"They are my first Coolmore horses, it's great, things are looking up a little for the stable."

Payne said stablemates Danza Doll and Artistic Rock would be in action at Randwick Saturday.

Danza Doll lines up in the Benchmark 80 Handicap (1200m) and Payne expects a vastly improved result from the filly who beat just one home at her most recent start.

"Provided she draws a decent gate, she'll be there," Payne said.

"Just forget she went around last start, she got stuck in a traffic jam and ran into a tired horse in front of her, she'll race well."

Artistic Rock is racing first-up in the 1600 metre Benchmark 75 Handicap.

"I'm very happy with her, she's had a couple of nice quiet trials leading up to this," Payne said.

She will be having her fifth start and landed her first win at Randwick over Saturday's distance in July.

"It was a bog track that day and she really put in and showed that she has a decent future," Payne said.
