Ofcourseican was a beaten favourite at Canterbury last time out but trainer Ron Quinton believes the filly is capable of bouncing back at the same track on Wednesday.
Ofcourseican finished a close third to Fiction and Ouija in a restricted fillies race over 1200m on April 21 but Quinton said the short space of time since her previous run in tougher company may have contributed to the defeat.
The filly will contest the Freeway Hotel Super TAB Handicap (1250m).
"She ran third the other day but I think the back-up of only 11 days between that race and her run in the PJ Bell may have just had the edge off her," Quinton said.
"She goes into that race tomorrow with a good chance, although some of the others in the race have equally good form."
Ofcourseican has had eight starts for a win and three placings.
The Mossman filly won a Gosford Maiden over 1100m earlier this preparation before she ran second at Warwick Farm to the well-related Shannara, a sister to Lonhro and Niello.
Quinton thought enough of Ofcourseican to give the three-year-old a crack at stakes company in the Listed PJ Bell Stakes (1200m), won by Zingaling, in which she finished 10th, beaten 3-1/4 lengths.
"We wanted to run her in a Listed race but that day was a bit of a wasted run," the trainer said.
"She drew the outside and led, but she was still only beaten just over three lengths."
Hugh Bowman will again ride Ofcourseican, who has drawn barrier five in the field of 10.
Ofcourseican's third at Canterbury last start was the first time Bowman had ridden the filly and Quinton said that experience should be a benefit.
Two-year-old Swiss Banker is another Quinton-trained runner entered for the Canterbury meeting but he could be reserved to run at Gosford on Thursday instead.
Ofcourseican was installed the $2.90 favourite with TAB Sportsbet ahead of the Peter Snowden-trained Feliciano, who'll be ridden by Josh Parr, at $5.
Parr has five rides for the Darley-Snowden team, the others being Fetes Alfresco (Race 1), Hierarchy (Race 2), Bass Rock (Race 3) and Jerezana (Race 5).
Jerezana was an impressive winner at Kembla first-up before she started favourite but reared at the start and finished last in the PJ Bell.
