The Caulfield Cup winning team of Gai Waterhouse and Chris Munce will be reunited when Sydney colt Brightexpectations heads to Brisbane for the Vo Rogue Plate on Boxing Day.
Waterhouse and Munce combined to win the Group One Caulfield Cup (2400m) with Descarado in October.
In a tough decision, Munce has turned down the chance to partner exciting Queensland three-year-old Falino in Sunday's 1350m Group Three Doomben feature to ride Brightexpectations who is headed for next month's $1 million Magic Millions Guineas (1400m) at the Gold Coast.
Munce has a big opinion of Falino after winning on the gelding at Caloundra last month.
However, the chance of claiming a $1 million race on Brightexpectations and his previous success with Waterhouse enticed him to accept the ride on the Sydneysider.
Munce was set to ride Falino in the washed-out Listed Gold Edition Plate at Eagle Farm on December 11 but trainer Jeff Caught feared Falino would not make the field and switched the son of Fusaichi Pegasus to Sydney.
Falino returned home safely following his all the way victory at Rosehill under Tim Clark and will be ridden by Shane Scriven in the Vo Rogue Plate.
Brightexpectations was ridden by Nash Rawiller when he resumed with a close fifth to Torio's Quest in the Magic Millions Stakes (1200m) at Wyong on December 5.
The son of More Than Ready won the Group Two Pago Pago Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill in March prior to his 12th in the Group One Golden Slipper at Rosehill won by Crystal Lily.
Munce also will ride either Military Grace or Internal Revenue for trainer Gillian Heinrich in the Listed Tommy Smith Slipper (1200m) on Boxing Day.
Both fillies are being aimed at next month's $2 million Magic Millions Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast and have done well since their respective last starts.
Heinrich had hoped to Melbourne's Michael Rodd would make the trip to Doomben.
"I asked Michael's manager whether he'd be coming up but he's not, so Chris Munce will ride one of them and I'll get a local rider for the other," she said.
Munce partnered both Military Grace and Internal Revenue when they both raced at Eagle Farm on December 11.
Military Grace was runner-up to Spectrolite when ridden by Rodd at Flemington last month before returning home to score a commanding win for Munce at Eagle Farm on December 11.
Munce has ridden Internal Revenue in all her three starts including a win at Doomben on November 6 and last start when runner-up to I'm The One in the Listed Phelan Ready Stakes (1000m) at Eagle Farm.
